Intensive Mental Health Support Worker Job Vacancies

We are seeking Intensive Mental Health Support Workers. These are casual roles, but we encourage career growth. Pursue is rapidly growing, and there will be provisions for full-time work down the track.

Role Description
- The core purpose of this role is to support participants who have a diagnosed psychosocial disability with a complex trauma history.
The role provides on-the-ground in-home supports and community access, including but not limited to:
- Appropriate intervention strategies implementation as well as psychosocial supports outlined within their Behaviour Support Plan.
- Direct intervention and support to participants including preparation of meals, some self-care, individual choices, and dignity of risk.
- Flexible supports that are tailored to the individual needs - this may include community access and transport requirements.
- Mandatory data input, on internal systems, for day-to-day barriers of meeting their individual goals
- Supports around practical assistance and mentorship to teach responsible day to day social interactions
- Professional communication with key stakeholders including government officials, NSW Police and Ambulance and family members
- The overarching approach is the application of the principles of Mental Health First Aid and the promotion of protective factors such as safety, control, optimism, social support, and addressing psychosocial stressors were identified
Role Requirements
- Availability to work different shifts, minimum 3 days per week.
- You must have experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- You must be physically and psychologically fit to undertake this work.
- You must have a WWCC, Police Check, First Aid Certificate, NDIS Worker Check, NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate
- Excellent working knowledge in Mental Health services.
- Minimum of a Certificate IV in Community Services / Mental Health is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
- Current drivers' licence and own transport with a willingness to use your own vehicle if required.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in Mental Health support.
- Demonstrated experience in a SIL residential setting.
- Demonstrated experience working with AOD participants, particularly with challenging behaviours.
- An understanding of the NDIS as it pertains to the role of Intensive Mental Health Support Worker
